For my first official hair post I want to show you an up do. Now I know having short hair can be a pain but with lots of booby pins it's amazing what you can do.
Tools needed : Wide tooth comb, styling cream/gel and booby pins.
Step 1: Wash and condition your hair. Now by "wash and condition" I mean prepoo, shampoo, condition and deep condition. *phew* that was a lot.
Step 2: Now this depends on you. You can start on wet or dry hair, it shouldn't affect the style. Personally I never comb my hair dry so I will be doing this style on wet/damp hair. Now back to the instructions...
Plait you hair in large mini twists, about an inch. Do this all over you head. The parts don't have to be perfect, actually the style might look better if you don't part neatly. Or a fun variation would be to do triangular parts, but ain't nobody got time for that.
Since this is an up do and you're dealing with short hair you want to plait your hair in the opposite direction you plan to pin it. So the back section will be twisted downwards and the front towards your face. This will give your style volume and prevent it from looking too flat.
Step 3: I did this step when my hair was dry. This is the some what tricky part.
I started from back to front. For the back section take two twists and cross them, place a booby pin to hold them down. Remember since this is an up do try and pin towards the middle of your head. Don't pin the hair too taut or else the style might be too flat.
For the middle section, try and pin the hair towards the middle. For the very middle pieces just bend the hair in the opposite direction it was twisted in and pin it down, try to make a little hump as you do this. The middle section should have the most volume.
The front section is easy, just pin the hair back towards the middle. For the sides you would do the same.
This is the finished style, hope you enjoy and try it yourself.
I hope this was very informative. I know how difficult short hair can be. Please comment and subscribe to my blog. Suggest anything you would like to see or read.
